"today in the bay's" michelle roberts joins us live from refugio state beach, one of two beaches remains closed this morning and could stay closed for quite some time. >> reporter: that's right. this beach and el capitan beach will be closed until at least next thursday. the goal is just to allow crews the opportunity to clean up and is probably not somewhere you want to spend your holiday vacation anyway. the smell is so intense. this is what clean-up crews are dealing with. you can see the rocks just completely covered in black. they've been scooping up dark seaweed washing up onshore as well. heartbreaking

that's when briefly in the south city and eventually here in daly city where this wreck happened with the driver of the dump truck wrapping the vehicle around the utility pole. and again, colliding with that minivan, send that minivan into a parked car. inside the minivan, 16-year-old girl, 20-year-old person and another person in that car. one of those people transported with serious injuries. the other two with minor injuries. we just spoke with a police officer who tells me that the driver of the stolen truck did try to get away but didn't get far was captured here on the scene and that driver taken to the hospital we believe with minor injuries. again, none of these injuries are life threatening and here at san jose at this intersection in daly city is going to be a few hours before it's reopened. not only do you have to remove all the debris from the dump truck and the minivan but there's a lot of diesel out here. they put absorbent material on the ground but they have to clean that up as well. reporting live in daly city, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> thank you, bob. >>> it

we have some cool temperatures near the coast in daly city reaching 66. san francisco up to 71 in the mission district and 91 in novato, ukiah, 104 degrees. we've had some really hot temperatures for the inland areas and now we're getting ready to combine some humidity. this is the reason why we have two tropical systems, kevin and linda, that are out there in the pacific. well to the south of us. but what will happen with this high pressure over the desert southwest and its clockwise wind flow will draw in that tropical moisture and cause a surge of some monsoon moisture over the sierra. it could also develop some showers and thunderstorms. but the remnants from those tropical systems will be right over us over the next couple days. they're going to see some high clouds and it's going to feel muggy and watching out for a chance of thunderstorms there that could unfortunately spark some new fires. the humidity coming along with temperatures in the low to mid 90s. it's going to feel more like miami around the bay area. then as we go into the weekend, some
